Movits!

In Luleå, up in the most northern part of Sweden, Johan and Anders Rensfeldt, brothers and band mates, began developing what would later become Movits!. Saxophone player Joakim Nilsson joined in, and the guys quickly discovered their mutual passion for swing.

Inspired by the drums and the horns of the swing era, they started working on the music that would later become known as Äppelknyckarjazz (Applestealingjazz, named after the apple-stealing trousers worn by Swedish street kids in the ’30s and ’40s).

The release of their debut album Äppelknyckarjazz with its quirky and unusual Hip Hop / Swing sound marked the band’s national and international breakthrough.
Today the band tours in Scandinavia and Europe, Japan and the USA.

The band is notorious for always delivering fast paced and energetic live shows, whether they are on a festival stage in front of 10,000 people, or at a club in front of 100. Great style, catchy songs, a new and different sound, highly energetic liveshows - MOVITS! got the whole package. Danceable, for sure.
